Open in Google Maps →The nearest airport is Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport, Srinagar (SXR), approximately 20–25 km from the venue. Taxis and local transport are readily available from the airport to Shalimar.
Srinagar is well connected by road and rail with major cities of India. From Srinagar Railway Station, the venue can be reached by taxi or local transport.
Limited accommodation is available within the SKUAST-K Shalimar Campus. Participants are therefore advised to make advance accommodation arrangements at hotels and guest houses available across Srinagar, including several options in the vicinity of the University.
The Kashmir Valley is at its scenic best during October–November, with pleasant weather, clear skies and vibrant autumn colours. Delegates can visit Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, and the historic sites of Srinagar, with the autumn colours of the Chinar trees providing a spectacular backdrop.
